Congratulations to all Solo & Ensemble Participants

Twenty-four Princeton Community High School and Middle School
Students participated in the District Solo and Ensemble Contest at
the University of Evansville on Saturday, February 6, 2010. The
students are grouped into performance categories by experience and
achievement level. The Groups are then judged and receive a gold,
silver, or bronze medal. Group Level One solos and ensembles that
receive gold medals then advance to the State competition held
February 20, 2010 in Indianapolis. Katie Ziebell will advance to
the State Competition as a clarinet soloist, accompanied by Prudy
Moore.

Middle School students who participated and the ratings they
received:
7th graders in Group Five who received a gold medal:

  • Ryan Luttrell on trombone
  • Taylor Wagner, Madison Everett and Courtney Stocker as a woodwind trio.

8th graders in Group Four who received a gold medal:

  • Avery Sokeland on alto saxophone,
  • Melody St. Clair on alto saxophone
  • Casey Meier on trombone.

8th graders in Group Three who received a gold medal:

  • Shania Jenks on bass trombone (with a perfect score)
  • Allison May on flute
  • Allison May, Emily Bays, and Kara Wilson as a flute trio

High School students who participated and the ratings they received:

Group Three:

  • Madison Mroz on alto saxophone, silver medal.

Group One:

  • Crimzyn Ivy on flute, bronze medal
  • Adam Jenks on baritone saxophone, silver medal,
  • brass quintet consisting of Helen Henico and Mike Wagner on trumpets, Chris Floyd on French horn, Alyssa Hudson on trombone and Zac Pflug on tuba, silver medal.
